Sight is our most precious sense. So it’s vital we do all we can to protect it.
At Harrold Opticians, our team of Ophthalmologists and Optometrists carry out comprehensive eye examinations. Regular eye tests will ensure your eyesight prescription is up-to-date and monitor for early signs of eye disease, such as cataracts or glaucoma.

Eye tests have an important role in maintaining good general health, whether you wear glasses or not. Many conditions such as high blood pressure, raised cholesterol and diabetes can often be detected at an early stage. Get in touch today to book your test.

FAQs about eye care

Why should I book an eye examination?

An eye examination or eye test doesn’t simply test your sight; it can also help to identify other health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

When should I book an eye test?

Eye problems can occur at any stage in life. That’s why we recommend you take an eye test at least every two years, no matter how old you are.

What should I expect?

You’ll sit down with one of our fully qualified optometrists to discuss the reasons behind your visit. From there we will check your sight, conduct a comprehensive eye health examination and then discuss whether or not you need glasses as well as any other recommendations.

How often do I need to come back?

Based on your individual results, we can advise how often you should attend.

What will it cost?

A private comprehensive eye test is currently £36.
All of our practices provide NHS services so you may be entitled to a free NHS eye test. Find out more here.
